Parties, civil society groups to hold “People’s Assembly”

The Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party, Mongolian National Democratic Party, Republican Party, and several civil society organizations are jointly organizing a People’s Assembly at the Palace of the Confederation of Trade Unions on February 13 and 14.

Representatives of the groups held a press conference on Tuesday to discuss the assembly. They say it will address issues such as national security, the election law, and other issues.

The Mongolian Green Party, Mongolian Liberal Party, Democratic Movement Party, Women’s Union, “Radical Renovation” Movement, “My Mongolian Land” Movement, “Undesnii Khas” Movement, Independence Alliance, Promise Claiming People’s Union, “Dayar Mongol” Movement, and NGOs will take part in the assembly.

Representatives of teachers said they will guide the assembly’s discussion of their demand for raises. Teachers have previously said they would demonstrate again to demand salary increases from the Government.
