SPEAKER MEETS AMBASSADOR OF S.KOREA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Speaker has thanked Mr. Jong IL for big efforts to widen the bilateral ties in the fields of politics, trade, economics, culture, education and the inter-citizen relations.

The Parliament Speaker D.Demberel said it on Thursday at a meeting with the Ambassador of Republic Korea to Mongolia whose diplomatic mission here has been completed.

Mr. Demberel said his official visit to the Republic of Korea at invitation of Park Hee-tae, the Speaker of the National Assembly, was fruitful, and underlined an importance of the widening of the inter-parliamentary ties for the sake of the Mongolia-Korea relations and cooperation. The bilateral trade turnover doubled, and a developmental official assistance from S.Korea's government increased in times of the dipmission of Mr. Jong IL, he added.

The Speaker said the high-level mutual visits ought to be forwarded, and pointed out that an establishment of a middle-term program of the bilateral cooperation is playing its role in determining tendencies of the ties. He wished Mr. Jong IL successes in work.

In turn, Mr. Jong IL expressed satisfaction with witnessing a development of Mongolia during his three-year work here and hoped that the bilateral relations and cooperation will widen on outcome of the parliamentary elections that will run in Mongolia and S.Korea this year.

Mr. Jong-IL conveyed his thanks to E.Monkh-Ochir MP, a head of the Mongolia-Korea parliamentary group, for solving a land-related matter for the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ulaanbaatar. He promised to support the Mongolians who live and work in his country.
