MPP heard opinions of one million citizens

After its meeting on Tuesday, the MPP Managing Council held a press conference.

MPP Chairman and Prime Minister S.Batbold, Secretary General U.Khurelsukh, MPP Caucus Chairman U.Enkhtuvshin, Deputy Prime Minister M.Enkhbold, Social Democracy-Mongolian Women’s Committee Chair and MP D.Oyunkhorol, and MPP Secretary D.Sarangerel took part in the event.

U.Khurelsukh said the managing council discussed the results of the MPP campaign “To Hear the People,” a series of forums that was held in the 21 aimags, nine districts of the capital, 283 soums, and 152 khoroos from January 2010 to November 2011. He said the party heard opinions from one million citizens, met with 978,805, and took suggestions from about 74,000. He added that the party has adopted about 15,000 of the suggestions.
S.Batbold said the campaign visited 8,000 households and 2,500 organizations. He said the 2012 state budget has allocated capital to local settlements to finance schools, kindergartens, and other improvements suggested by citizens. He also said the MPP has issued a protocol to fight alcohol abuse and encourage personal responsibility.

He noted that the MPP has issued a 20-year plan that focuses on development with a scientific basis, with 96 soums to be developed as a model. S.Batbold emphasized that the party will work to raise living standards because the MPP has an ideology of social democracy. He said the Government has declared 2012 a year of developing households. He said the Government will also work to reduce taxes on small- and medium-sized businesses.
