Fired ACA officials appealing their dismissals

Ten Anti Corruption Authority (ACA) officials who were fired last year are challenging their dismissals. The officials, including investigators and specialists, say they were fired without cause and given no reason for their dismissals.

Last December, they complained to the State Service Council (SSC). The council discussed the complaint in accordance with the laws on state service and on anti-corruption, as well as a 2003 parliamentary protocol dealing with disputes arising from the appointment of state officials.

The SSC has released a preliminary report indicating that five of the workers were wrongfully terminated, but a final report has not been issued yet.

Once the council issues its final ruling, the fired workers can take their case to the Administration Court.
