DEMPARTY FACTION MEETS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A head of the Democratic Party's (DP) faction at the State Great Khural Ch.Saikhanbileg said on Monday that their faction discussed 11 issues including a draft law on transferring some rights to the cabinet.


"We also considered a bill on placing additional financing of MNT 172 billion in the state budget in view of salaries and pensions increase before a proper time, but did not back it, considering it breaches the law on budget and the Constitution," he added. “If this law is approved, a meaning of approval of budgets will be abolished, posing a threat of breaking the law on budget any times,” he stressed.

The MPs, including D.Lundeejantsan from the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), and Z.Enkhbold from the DP, submitted to parliament draft amendments to the law on local election. Attaching to it great importance, the cabinet considered as necessary to give its proposal to these drafts at this week's regular meeting, and the faction has decided to postpone a discussion of the drafts in order to consider them in united form.

The faction also focused on a draft law on appointing and discharging some members of the board of the Mongolian National Public Radio and Television. Then a proposal was sounded by a working group on imposing responsibilities upon the president of the Mongol Bank, who had not taken actions against the price soar, and reached a conclusion that not only him but also the fuel importers are guilty of this price increase.
