TS.ELBEGDORJ GIVES SPEECH AT MEETING OF ADB-MONGOLIA COOPERATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has said the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been Mongolia's reliable partner during its transition period. “Mongolia is proud of its successes and achievements of the last 20 years gained together with many partners and supporters, especially with the ADB,” Mr Elbegdorj stressed at a high-level consultation titled "MON-ADB Partnership: A Roadmap for Happy, Healthy and Harmonious Mongolia" held Monday. “Today, we are concluding our 20-year cooperation and are making a plan for the 20 years to come...Any initiatives of our cooperation will be realized effectively,” he said. Mongolia is at the start of intensive economic growth, and time has come to consider both challenges and opportunities of the next twenty years, he said. "Our closest challenge is to empower our people, because only those having authority/right are able to create wealth and to exploit it fruitfully, only creative people can bring development, " he stressed. "We can collaborate in making people more creative and in providing them with this authority,” Ts.Elbegdorj said, adding that it is time to transfer from the representative democracy to the direct democracy principle.
