Convicted ACA officials will not return

The State Supreme Court (SSC) last week ordered three Anti-Corruption Authority (ACA) officials convicted of corruption released from custody.

ACA Chief Ch.Sangaragchaa, ACA deputy chief D.Sunduisuren, and the head of the ACA’s executive board, U.Altangadas, had each been sentenced to at least two years in prison for betraying state secrets, abusing their official positions, improperly spending state funds, defaming MP S.Erdene, and violating their executive authority.

The SSC decided that they should be released on bail. Apparently, after their release, the three officials enquired about getting their old jobs back. Since their convictions they have not been able to work in their former positions, in accordance with a provision of Criminal Law. Now an SSC judge has confirmed that the three men cannot return to their old jobs.
