Mongolia and Italy make strides toward a stronger relationship

Due to the visit of President Ts.Elbegdorj, Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MMFA) G.Zandanshatar made communiqué with Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IMFA) Franco Frattini. They have interchanged views about free visas to Italy, to organize a Mongolian Day in Italy and an Italian Day in Mongolia in 2012 as well as to enrich the cooperation in the fields of education, archeology and mineral resources.

City of Bella is the leading area for the textile and knitting industry, thus they spoke about how to link these industries to the wool and cashmere industries of Mongolia, in attempts to enrich our agricultural products by Italian technology and export to the world market.

IMFA ministry Franco Frattini reported they will support our Ambassador in Italy and he expressed they will open permanent representation in Mongolia. If the permanent representation of Italy opens in Mongolia, it will be the first representation of the Schengen countries.

The Ministry of Economic Development Paolo Romani said, “Our two countries could cooperate in the departments of agriculture, primary production and substructure. We have good technology and you have raw materials with quality, so we could cooperate and generate income from world market”.

Since 1973 Mongolia has collaborated with Italian industry and companies. And now we’re ready to import Italian technology and educate our workers in Italy.
