HEALTH MINISTER MEETS GOVERNOR OF NEW SOUTH WALES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Tuesday, the Minister of Health S.Lambaa mer a delegation headed by Mrs. Marie R. Bashir, the governor of New South Wales State of Australia. She is visiting Mongolia these days. The Minister said he is glad that Mrs. Bashir, by paying the visit, respects Mongolian side's requests to pay attention to strengthening of medical sector staffers and to render support. The Minister noted that many specialists of the Ministry of Health are studying in Australia on the governmental scholarships for master degree, ands asked Mrs. Bashir to train more Mongolians in the University of Sydney, especially to enroll in postgraduate training. A dean of the Medical School of the University of Sydney Prof. Bruce Robinson said his university is going to establish a cooperation contract with Mongolia's University of Health Sciences in order to add a subject as "doctors' ethics" to the bachelor's syllabus. S.Lambaa proposed establishing a cooperation memorandum with Sydney university on running trainings that improve ethics of medical staffers and on preparing doctors in spheres urgently needed in Mongolia. Mrs. Bashir accepted these proposals and said it is possible to develop a collaboration between Mongolian side and the University of Sydney. As a psychopathologist, she expressed a readiness to help prepare professionals in this sector. Present at the meeting were diplomats of the Australian Embassy in the South Korea; B.Bayart, a head of the Public Administration and Management Department of the Health Ministry; B.Yanjmaa, a head of the Ministry's Section of Foreign Cooperation, and others.
