Snow between 10 and 45 cm covers 70% of Mongolia

The Meteorology Institute says snow now covers 70% of the territory and some soums of Bayan-Ulgii, Uvs, Zavkhan, Khuvsgul, Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Bulgan, Selenge, Dundgobi, Khentii, Dornod and Sukhbaatar aimags are under 10 and 45 cm of snow. Some 20% of territory has snow between 5 and 9 cm. Some soums in Bayankhongor, Umnugobi, Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd, Gobi-Altai, Uvs, Zavkhan and Uvurkhangai aimags have no snow while some 88 soums in 15 aimags have dense snow. The winter would be more difficult. The next ten days are not so cold but high wind and even storms are likely to trouble herders.
