"Borte Chono-2010" takes place

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The "Borte Chono-2010" festival of granting the best sportspeople prizes took place Thursday in the "600" studio at Mongolia's National Public Television.

Present were Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia; S.Lambaa, the Minister of Health; L.Bold, the Defense Minister; and some parliamentarians.

The best of the best sportsperson of the year 2010 has been selected from 36 candidates under a poll of sport journalists. A State Honored Sportswoman S.Battsetseg has become the best of 2010 with 509 points: She won gold medal in the FILA Wrestling World Championships held September 6-12 in Moscow, Russia. This is the very first gold medal in the world championship won by a Mongolian woman. Her coach Z.Duvchin has become the best coach of 2010 as well.

A gold medalist of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games for gymnastics G.Erdenebold has been selected as the best young sportsman. The men's team for basketball has become the best team; the "Bacelona" Olympic council--the best branch council; the "Khangarid"--the best sports club; and a new sports complex--the best construction for sports.
