Ambulances and equipment for all aimags

The Millennium Challenge Foundation (MCF) has handed over ambulance vehicles with medical equipment and training facilities worth USD285 million to hospitals and health organizations throughout the country. One Toyota Landcruiser worth USD44,500 was handed over to the Chief of the Health Organization in each of the 21 aimags and 9 districts and medical training facilities worth USD9.2 million to hospitals there.

Prime Minister S.Batbold attended the ceremony and said the Government was aware of the need to improve health care services. The budget of 2011 has allocated MNT250 billion to build large hospitals in some aimags. Ambulances will be provided to more areas so that people in remote localities can be reached.

The MCF will invest USD39.1 million in the health sector of Mongolia, including providing hospitals of the first and second stages with diagnostic and therapeutic equipment for blood pressure, diabetes, breast and uterine cancer.
