Prime Minister meets WB country director

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Premier met Tuesday Mrs. Coralie Gevers, the newly appointed country director of the World Bank (WB) for Mongolia.

The Premier has said Mongolia will continue the traditional relations and cooperation with the WB. He has emphasized that the goal is put to pay attention to developing people and to reducing poverty and unemployment through good governance, sustainable development and the development.

"The government is to transfer some of the state directions to the private sector, and works have already started," he said and stressed that in this direction, a clloaboration with the WB would be fruitful.

The WB country director has appreciated the government's aims. She has expressed her satisfaction with Mongolia's overcoming the financial and economic crisis within short period and managing to tackle its urgent problems with proper policy forward an intensive development.

Mrs. Gevers has said the WB will render financial aid to Mongolia in working out technical-economic justification to develop infrastructure in the mining region in regions and will continue the "Sustainable livelihood" project.
