Premier ends visit in Saint Peterburg

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold arrived Thursday in Saint Petersburg city in frames of his official visit to the Russian Federation.

S.Batbold has laid a wreath to the Motherland Statue at the Piskariovskoye Memorial complex, and has held a meeting with Mrs. Valentina Matviyenko, a governor of Saint Petersburg city.

The Premier and the governor have considered issues of the bilateral relations including activating the ties between Ulaanbaatar and Petersburg cities, agreeing to increase number of Mongolian students studying in the city, to mount exhibitions in their cities, to exchange specialists and to develop collaboration in urban planning, culture and arts.

After this, the Premier and his spouse visited the Hermitage Museum and watched the "Swan Lake" ballet in the Mariinsky Academic Theatre.

Saint Petersburg is a city and a federal subject (a federal city) of Russia, and one of the biggest historical, cultural and arts center of the country. It used to be the capital of the Russian Empire. Statistics show that the real income of population is sharply increasing. Saint Petersburg is a birthplace of a former president and incumbent Prime minister of Russia V.V.Putin. For the time being, some 200 Mongolian students are studying in the city.

The city was the last leg of S.Batbold's official visit to Russia.
