Mongolia-Cuba diplomatic relations turn 50

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the Republic of Cuba celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations established December 7, 1960. In frames of the anniversary, the two countries have taken several steps to mark the anniversary.

The Presidents and the Foreign Ministers of the two countries have exchanged congratulatory telegrams, delegations of Cuba's Foreign Ministry and Institute for Friendship of Nations (IFN) paid a visit to Mongolia in October this year. At a consultative meeting between the Foreign Ministries, the sides have given a joint conclusion to the bilateral relations being developed since the establishment of the diplomatic relations, and shared proposals on further works.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Cuba Ya.Dolgorjav has given interviews to Cuban TV channels and radios on occasion of the anniversary, and has published articles and interviews in some newspapers.

Mongolia's Embassy in Cuba has given a reception at which were, among others, Orlando Celso Garcia, Cuba's sugar minister; Marcos Rodriguez Costa, the deputy foreign minister; Ramуn Ripoll Diaz, the deputy minister of foreign trade and foreign investment and head of the Cuba-Mongolia friendship society; Teresa Olivia, a member of parliament and head of the Cuba-Mongolia parliamentary group; and other officials.

A stamp and envelope have been co-issued by Cuba's Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Information and Communication and the IFN; Cuba's Ministry of Culture has organized a ballet concert dedicated to diplomats of Mongolia's Embassy and Embassies of some Asian countries in Cuba; the IFN has held a round table meeting for former ambassadors of Mongolia to Cuba as well as Cuba to Mongolia and Mongolians who were educated in Cuba.
