D. Demberel meets speaker of Lok Sabha

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In frames of the official visit, a delegation led by the Parliament Speaker D.Demberel has held talks with Mrs. Meira Kumar, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament. It was a peak of the official visit.

Mrs. Kumar has mentioned that Mongolia-India relations is 2,500 years old, and underlined the relations have been enriched with new contents. "High level visits are important for development of the bilateral relations, for example, the Mongolian President's visit of 2009 and Your official visit," she said.

"Your country deeply cherishes democracy. Apart of this, we value human freedom and rights and other democratic principles," she stressed.

Underlining that the countries have reached many agreements during the Mongolian President's visit, she said that thanks to this "our countries could bring the relations into a level of comprehensive partnership". She has added the bilateral friendly ties have been deepened after signing a memorandum on cooperating in sectors of nuclear energy, health, culture and scholarship programs.

Mrs. Kumar has thanked Mongolia for supporting India in seeking non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council. Mentioning that the India-Mongolia inter-parliamentary group works at the Lok Sabha, Mrs. Kumar has noted that India wants to make an investment to Mongolia in putting mineral resources into economic circulation.

In response, D.Demberel has expressed a satisfaction with meeting with the Lok Sabha's Speaker. He has noted that our parliaments have signed some 40 documents on bilateral ties and collaboration, and said he is satisfied with the cooperation in the defense sector.

"We are ready to support your investments in the mineral sector. The intergovernmental collaboration in agriculture, information technology and educational sectors is in a good condition. I hope the collaboration in these spheres will widen," D.Demberel stressed.

The Speakers have signed an inter-parliamentary memorandum, and exchanged souvenirs.

The Speaker has received Mr. Virbhadra Singh, India's minister of steel, and Mr. Srikumar Banerjee, a chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India (AECI).

Mr. Singh has mentioned Mongolia has big resources mineral resources, and expressed a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in improving new ideas for the countries economics, export and import and in seeking the most beneficial solution for investments of mineral resources.

Mr. Banerjee has underlined it is important for India now to make investments in energy sector adding India urgently needs uranium.

The Speaker has introduced them to legal document of Mongolia on nuclear energy and related laws. He has noted an importance of getting assistance from India in preparing experts in the uranium exploration sector.
