D. Demberel meets Indian foreign minister and speaker of upper use

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker paid an official visit to the Republic of India December 9-13. D.Demberel started it by paying a tribute to the Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, a leader of India for the Indian independence movement. Then, India's foreign minister S.M. Krishna met the Speaker, his spouse M.Dolgorsuren and accompanying them officials.

Mr. Krishna expressed his satisfaction with the official visit of Mongolia's Parliament Speaker, and underlined that this visit is an expression of widening of the Mongolia-India relations and cooperation.

The Speaker has mentioned that the first Prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru significantly contributed to Mongolia's joining the United Nations, and expressed his satisfaction with his visit to India on occasion of the 55th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations. He has pointed out that the relations between our countries were enriched with new contents and that the sides signed memorandum on comprehensive partnership since the visit of Mongolia' President Ts.Elbegdorj to India paid in September of 2009.

The Speaker has underlined that the Republic of India is a "Third neighbor" of Mongolia, so it is necessary to create a relationship for consultation in frames of the defense and external relations. He has confirmed that it is possible for Mongolia to support India in seeking a non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
After this meeting, the Speaker met Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari, the vice president of the Republic of India and the Speaker of the Rajya Sabha (the upper house of Indian parliament).

The Speakers have clarified tradition of the bilateral cooperation. Mr. Ansari has underlined the Indian side can help Mongolia to train experts and have them learn high achievements in techniques and technologies.

Mentioning that highly educated trained staffers can be a bridge for the further development of the two countries, D.Demberel underlined an importance of learning experiences from the Indian parliament. He has invited Mr. Ansari and the representatives of the upper house to take part in the Forum of Parliamentarians from Asia-Pacific Countries to be held January of 2011.

In his turn, Mr. Ansari has appreciated the words of Mongolia's Speaker, and said he agreed with opinions of Mr. Demberel.

Then, the delegation has visited the Parliamentary Central Hall and the Library of parliamentarians. They have met with Sushma Swaraj, a leader of the parliamentary opposite party and members of the standing committee on foreign policy.
