Vice President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) Song Xiuyan visited Hohhot, capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from August 5 to 7.
Song inspected one of the Women's Homes in Hohhot and insisted that women's development remains an important task for the government. She also visited the local staff working there.
Ergun City, Song spoke to one of the women who have benefited from the ACWF's small loans project, Sa Lina. Sa Lina began her own travel business in 2012 and received 50,000 yuan (U.S. $8,121) from local women's federation and she employed five local women to work for her. The fist year they earned 10,000 yuan (U.S. $1,624) in total. Song encouraged her to continue to expand her business.
Song visited an orphanage and praised the efficient management there. She hoped the infrastructure would improve and more attention to details is needed.
