LUTON, UK -- August 14, 2014: Vauxhall’s all-new British-built Vivaro has reached the halfway point in its marathon 12,000 mile road trip across Europe and Asia.

After over a month of travelling, a group of three Vivaros arrived in Kazakhstan before moving in to Mongolia and embarking upon the final part of the journey through Siberia, before arriving at the Eastern city of Magadan on the Pacific coast of Russia towards the end of August.

The expedition, a fundraiser for the charity Help for Heroes, sees former soldiers and crew including a mechanic and a medic embark on the journey of a lifetime in three Vivaro vans.

The route from Europe’s most westerly road to Asia’s most easterly takes ten time zones, two continents and 17 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia.

“This is the opportunity for some lucky ex-services personnel to take part in a memorable two-month journey to help them re-adjust to civilian life,” said Steve Bryant, Brand Manager, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles. “It’s also the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that the all-new Vivaro is built to take it all.”

The trip is fully funded by Vauxhall and other participating equipment sponsors including Max Adventure, Craghoppers and Continental.

You can follow progress of the expedition at Vivaro's Siberia Challenge where you will find video footage, a Twitter feed and a tracker.

The all-new Vivaro offers class-leading build quality and practicality with improved cargo dimensions and excellent payload capability. The enhanced cabin is designed for comfort and control with high levels of specification including modern infotainment with DAB radio.

On sale now, Vivaro list prices start from £17,995 excluding VAT – that's £450 less than the outgoing model. Fuel economy is up to 47.9mpg.

Vauxhall is the UK’s number one manufacturer, building over 44,000 vans in the UK last year, all of which were produced at Luton. Building over treble that of its nearest competitor, it is a position Vauxhall has held for the last 12 years.
