Mongolian badminton team competes at World Junior Championship

The national badminton junior team of Mongolia is currently competing in the 2014 World Junior Badminton Championship which launched today in Alor Setar, Malaysia.


The championship will continue until April 18 and will crown the best junior badminton players in the world.

The Mongolian team has been training with the Malaysian national team since last month. The training will end on April 22.

Dornod Province’s B.Ariunzaya and Arkhangai Province’s J.Oyungerel are coaching the Mongolian national team. The team comprises of badminton players from Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Arkhangai and Orkhon Provinces.

Five other junior badminton players of Mongolia are currently training to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This team is led by Secretary General of the Mongolian Badminton Association G.Zulbaatar. The team will return to Mongolia on April 12, accompanied by a coach from Japan.

Upon return, the team will demonstrate the results of their training and make a briefing on how their upcoming six year joint program with Japan will affect their future achievements.
