Mongolia To Conduct Population Census In 2015

ULAANBAATAR, April 11 (Bernama) -- The National Statistical Office of Mongolia will conduct a national census next year, Mongolian news agency MONTSAME reported.

This will be the first intermediate census after the last one held in 2010.

A census of the population is taken every ten years.

The census will give a detailed population estimate and statistic updates on education, literacy, religion, economic activities, employment, household composition and living conditions.

Data from the 2010 census showed Mongolia's population was estimated to have reached 2,754,685.

One of the main features of the census was renumeration for Mongolians living abroad.

The 2010 findings revealed 107,410 Mongolian citizens had been residing in overseas for more than six months and 16,428 foreign citizens and stateless people had been living for more than half a year in the country.
