3-day Unifest begins at Maharshi Dayanand University

ROHTAK: The three day Inter-Zonal Youth Festival of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) UNIFEST-2013 commenced here on Friday with scintillating dance and music performances, and creative literary, artistic expression of participating students.

The ambassador of Mongolia to India Sanjaasuren Bayarra was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of the youth festival. Chief guest Sanjaasuren Bayarra in his address said that India and Mongolia share historical ties. He said that active cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of education needs to be initiated.

He expressed happiness on his visit to MDU, and lauded the developmental strides of the varsity. Conveying his good wishes for the Youth Festival, he said that Youth Festival is a platform for expression of creative self of youth.

MDU vice-chancellor HS Chahal in his welcome address threw light on the historical and cultural linkages of India and Mongolia. He said that avenues of educational and cultural exchange between both the countries can be explored in future. MDU VC Chahal presented traditional headwear 'Pugree" to Ambassador Sanjaasuren Bayarra.

About 500 students from University Teaching Departements and 62 affiliated colleges are taking part in this literary-cultural extravaganza.
