Ulaanbaatar to host the International Marathon

Ulaanbaatar City is to host the International Marathon, Ulaanbaatar-2013 on June 2nd.

The Municipality of Ulaanbaatar City is organizing the International Marathon Ulaanbaatar-2013 along with the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Green Development and Ar Mongol Travel group. The Marathon where 500 runners including over 110 athletes from 14 different countries have attended is for World Environment Day.

The athletes will compete in two different age categories from Sukhbaatar Square via Peace Bridge passing Mahatma Gandhi Street to Oddiin hothon then to turn back to reach the finish line.

A Kenyan runner, Patrick Makau Musyoki, the holder of the World Record in the marathon from the Berlin Marathon, 2011 and the United Nations Environment Programme"s clean air patron will run the Marathon in Mongolia this year.
