Mongolia is a wild and fascinating land with dramatic landscapes and fascinating people. Tour leader Dick Cable has traveled extensively in Mongolia including the Dhahat Valley in the north central part of Mongolia on a horseback adventure to visit nomadic families in their summer pasturing grounds. More recently Dick travelled across Russian Siberia to Mongolia and then headed far west for the Eagle Festival and the commencement of the hunting season in which eagles are trained as falcon.

In this presentation Dick will share photographs, film and experiences of these amazing trips.

With more than 100,000 members, advocates, and supporters in the Northeast and beyond, the nonprofit AMC promotes the protection, enjoyment, and stewardship of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of the Appalachian region. The AMC supports natural resource conservation while encouraging responsible recreation, based on the philosophy that successful, long-term conservation depends upon first-hand enjoyment of the natural environment.
