Final preparations made for the Asian University Women’s Volleyball Championships

The 2nd Asian University Women’s Vollyball Championships will be held April 9th to 15th at the Sports Palace located in the Buyant-Ukhaa. Teams who will participate include Mongolia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Representing Mongolia will be the Mongolian National Student Team made up of G.Tsetsegjargal, P.Buyanjargal, G.Enkh­saikhan, D.Altansuvd, D.Tsendkhuu, E.Munkh-Uils, A.Purevsuren, Ch.Kha­liun, A.Naranchimeg, and L.Otgontsetseg.

M.Sonompil will work as the Chief of the Mongolian National Student Team, Jung Young Hwawill will work as their head coach, and R.Tamir and B.Kherlen will work as assistant coaches.

In preperation for the event, organizers upgraded Faclities at the Sports Place, purchasing Gerflor brand floor boards from Germany that are widely used in International competitions such as the World Championships and Olympic Games. The also brought 252 Mikasa volleyballs from Japan.

Khasu-Megavit’s engineers are installing standardized volleyball poles on the refurbished courts. Anticipation is already high for the event. Students from 80 universities have made ticket requests to the Mongolian Olympic Committee. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Mongolian Olympic Committee has decided that 10 universities, about 4000 students, will be able to watch the matches everyday at scheduled times.

The Public Transportation Authority of Mongolia will send additional buses to deal with the number of spectators.
