Mongolian Olympic team beginning to take shape

10 athletes from Mongolia will compete at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England with the chance for additional athletes to gain berths in the final months before the games open on July 27th. 

Out of the world’s 200 countries, 146 countries received Olympic berths and there will be 10,500 athletes competing in nearly 300 events across 26 sports. 

Additionally, nine Mongolian athletes will represent the country at the 2012 Paralympics also being held in London. 

This is the second time the Summer Olympic Games will be held in London the first was in 1948.

Athletes who have received Olympic berths:

2.U.Munkh-Erdene (Boxing: 64 kg weight class)
3.J.Chuluunbat (Freestyle wrestling: 120 kg weight class)
4.O.Nasanburmaa (Freestyle wrestling: 63 kg weight class)
5.O.Gundegmaa (Sport Shooting: pistol)
6.N.Bayraa (Sport Shooting: rifle)
7.J.Gantugs (Archery)
8.B.Urantungalag (Archery)
9.B.Ser-Od
10.L.Otgonbayar

Athletes who have received Paralympics’ berths:

1.B.Uugankhuu (Judo: 60 kg weight class)
2.P.Bolortuya (Judo: 52 kg weight class)
3.A.Munkhbat (Judo: 66 kg weight class)
4.D.Ganbat (Judo: 90 kg weight class)

6.B.Oyun-Erdene (Archery: 70m)
