BARUUNNARAN MINE HAS 193 MILLION TONS OF COAL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ It is has been estimated that the Baruunnaran coal mine has 193 million tons coal reserves, the www.gogo.mn website reported on Tuesday.

The coal mine located in Khankhongor soum, Omnogobi aimag, some 500 km from Ulaanbaatar city and 30 km from the Ukhaa khudag coal mine. The geological reserve of the mine is 253 million tons by an evaluation of Australia's Minarco Mine Consult, in a scope of a preliminary technical and economic justification made in March of 2008.

The project's technical and economic justification was accepted last year by the Professional Council of Mineral Resources. For the time being, the "Energy Resources" company is running activities on the Baruunaran mine.
