AMBASSADOR OF REPUBLIC OF KOREA PRESENT CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Mr. Lee Tae-ro presented on Wednesday his letter of credence to the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj.

The President congratulated Mr. Lee on beginning holding office and said he is glad that an experienced in Mongolia's affairs person has been appointed the Ambassador to our country in times of developing the bilateral comprehensive partnership.

He underlined an importance of the agreement on bringing the relations into a level of comprehensive partnership and of a middle-term program on the cooperation established during a visit of Lee Myung-bak paid last year.

“The democracy is one of the big values to unite our countries. I am always grateful to S.Korea for cooperating with us in supporting activities of the Community of Democracies,” the President said. Mongolia aims to strengthen the regional, including Asian, cooperation within the presidency of the CD, he added.

Ts.Elbegdorj thanked the Republic of Korea for efforts to boost the Asian Partnership for Democracy, co-initiated by the Presidents of the two countries. He said Mongolia attaches a great importance to developing of the bilateral collaboration in education, health, mining, agriculture and infrastructure, and to forwarding the economic cooperation in East Asia.

In turn, Mr. Lee expressed satisfaction with presenting the diplomatic credentials to Ts.Elbegdorj who has become famous for his democratic ideology not only in Mongolia, but also in the world.

Mr. Lee fully said he supports the presidency of Mongolia over the CD. Mongolia has reached its historical period of intensive development, "and, in order to boost our ties and cooperation, I will pay great attention to two big objectives such as the inter-citizen ties intensification through facilitating the visa terms, and abolishion of all difficulties occurring in flights between our countries." He added that not less attention will be given to widening of the ties in infrastructure and road sectors.
