Works of Mongolian parliamentary standing committee on social policy and education

Head of the Mongolian parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science D.Ochirbat MP has given a report to media on the works of the Standing committee done during the regular autumn session of the State Great Khural for 2010, and on activities to be realized.

The Standing committee held its meetings 14 times within the period, and approved at the parliamentary session the draft laws on the budget of Mongolia for 2011; on the budget of social insurance fund for 2011; and on the budget of the Human Development Fund for 2011, which are submitted by the cabinet.

In addition to them, the Standing committee has approved the budget of the National Council of Social Insurance for 2011, and then endorsed the draft law on ensuring gender equality, and the law on rules of maintaining the law of gender equality. Important draft laws on the socio-economic life of the country and livelihood of the people have been considered at the Standing committee as well.

In the period of an interval of the parliamentary session, the Standing committee plans to do several works such as to organize an open discussion on supporting employment, reducing rates of unemployment with participation of scholars, experts and representatives of citizens and NGOs; and discussions themed “Medical doctor” and “Teacher”. Moreover, other regional meetings and discussions will be organized.
