Iskandar named envoy to Mongolia

BEIJING: Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Iskandar Sarudin has been named the ambassador-designate to Mongolia.

Sources from the Malaysian Embassy here said he was scheduled to present his credentials to Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj in Ulan Bator on March 16.

It is learnt that the ambassador would lead a business delegation from Malaysia during a visit from March 15 to 17 to explore collaborations with Mongolia in trade, investment, tourism, education, infrastructure and utilities development.

Previously, the Malaysian Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, was the travelling diplomatic mission to Mongolia.

Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China chairman Ting Sie Hang said the delegation would meet Mongolian officials who would conduct business match-making sessions for Malaysian companies.
