No Mineral Exploration License Issuance Till April 30

The Parliament of Mongolia approves the Law to Extend the Term for the Law to Temporarily Suspend the Issuance of New Mineral Exploration Licenses.

The Law was initiated by the President of Mongolia Elbegdorj Tsakhia. The draft proposed to extend the term of the Law to July 15, 2011, yet the lawmakers shortened the term to April 30, 2011.

Another president-initiated law passed by the Parliament was the package law to reduce air pollution. The package law includes the law to reduce air pollution in the capital city, the law to amend the law on air and two separate laws on income of individuals and cooperatives.

Under the law, residents in particular parts of the Ulaanbaatar City districts will enjoy the 50% cut from night-time electricity price and the government will pay compensation. Some MNT200 billion will be spent for this purpose.
