Mongolia ready to be with J&K in several sectors

Mongolia has expressed interest in collaborating with Jammu and Kashmir in the in the fields of tourism, education and culture.


A Mongolian delegation, led by the country's Ambassador in India Voroshilov Enkhbold and governor of UVS Province of Mongolia Tsachikher Erdenesuren on Wednesday called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar. The delegation held 40 minutes meeting with Abdullah.

"The state offers greater potential in these fields and the government is keen to upgrade tourist facilities, modernize education and agriculture and showcase the rich culture and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir," Omar told the Mongolian high-level delegation.

The delegation is here to study the areas in tourism, culture and agriculture where Mongolia and Jammu and Kashmir State could collaborate for development and exchange of expertise.
The delegation said Mongolia resembles Jammu and Kashmir in many ways like mountains, natural beauty and landscape. It said the delegation is looking forward for enhancing tourism relations with Jammu and Kashmir. "We are rich in mineral wealth and are interested to share experience with Jammu and Kashmir in this field," the delegation told the Chief Minister, according to official spokesman.

The delegation invited the chief minister to Mongolia. "The visit of J&K Chief Minister to that country would open venues for cooperation and collaboration in various economic fields," the delegation said.

The Mongolian delegation is also visiting Drass and Leh. They will attend polo exhibition match at Drass. A Mongolian Polo team is participating in the polo tournament to be held at Leh in July this year.
