Ford Transit van taking friends to Mongolia

Two men are hoping to drive 20,000 miles across 24 countries in just two months, in the name of charity

Charles Hewitt-Dedman, 22, from Rusper, and Edward Samengo-Turner, 22, from Handcross will drive through the likes of Iran and Iraq en route to Mongolia, before returning via Russia and Ukraine.

The pair are raising money for St Wilfred’s Hospice in Eastbourne.

Their vehicle for the journey, supplied by main sponsor Choice Vehicle Rentals, is a Ford Transit Van with about 130,000 miles on the clock.

It has been fitted with a tracker, so updates can be monitored on their charity Facebook page, Choice Mongolia.

Charles said: “It should be a really good experience.”
