Mongolia to collaborate with Sweden in environment

The Mongolian delegation led by the Acting Deputy of the State Secretary of the Environment and Green Development Ministry, J.Batbold, attended the tour to study Sustainable Development Education and experience the eco-schools in Sweden between February 12 and 20.

During the tour, some Mongolian officials visited several eco-schools of Sweden, got introduced with the operation of Uppsala University, and took part in related training and workshops. J.Batbold also exchanged views regarding mutual cooperation with Sweden’s State Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Bertil Ostberg.

The two sides stressed that the issue of protecting nature has become one of the most important matters for both countries. They also expressed their interests to support each other in the framework of UNESCO and to promote sustainable development and protect nature in the future. Furthermore, they discussed the opportunities for cooperation such as to conduct workshops and seminars, exchange students, and learn from each other’s experiences.

Sweden is one of the countries that focus greatly on environmental protection and it hosted the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm in 1972.
