Maplewood seek missing Mongolian man

Maplewood police are seeking a Mongolian man who was last seen Dec. 21 leaving his apartment for the Maplewood Public Library.

Dulguun Sukhee, 20, of the 7200 block of Southwest Avenue, was reported missing Dec. 23, said Police Det. Sgt. Matt Nighbor said.

"His family all reside in Mongolia and they have not heard from him as well and are very concerned," Nighbor said.

Sukhee is described as about 5'6 to 5'8 and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark green coat, blue jeans, and white and blue tennis shoes.

He speaks a little English, Nighbor said.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Dec. 21 Sukhee left his home on foot at about 5 p.m. after telling his roommate he was heading to the Maplewood Library.

It is unknown whether or not he arrived at his destination, Nighbor said.

Sukhee has not been accounted for by family, friends, or his employer, he said.

Sukhee has also missed three days of work since he was last seen.

Sukhee does not own a car or have a driver's license. He usually walks or rides his bicycle, Nighbor said. Sukhee moved from Mongolia to Maplewood about six months ago so he could attend a local community college, he said.

Sukhee left behind his passport, bicycle, and clothes.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Sukhee, call the Maplewood Police Department at (314) 645-3000.
