First Mongolian underground film contest

The First Mongolian underground film contest wrapped up on Saturday June 22nd with an Award ceremony at the Red Ger Gallery. The Arts Council of Mongolia organized the first ever Mongolian underground film contest along with Altan khalis kholboo.

The 26 films delivered to the Mongolian underground film contest were shown during the event. The judges announced five films to go through to the final round.

The judges panel consisted of screenwriter and director D.Turmunkh, the State Honored Artist, S.Sarantsatsralt, director T.Munkh-Orgil, CEO of the Art Council of Mongolia, Ts.Ariunaa and art studier J.Bodibaatar.

The following five films selected to enter the finals have been granted the right to take part in Ulaanbaatar International Film Festival:

5th place: "In Paradise" – by B.Tseveendulam

4th place: "Madman`s diary (Motion)" – by N.Itgel

3rd place: "Line" – by A.Nyamtseren. The 3rd place prize of 300,000 MNT from Guru Media was given by director S.Byamba

2nd place: "Character" – by D.Dorjkhand. The 2nd place prize of 500,000 MNT from the Art Council of Mongolia was given by CEO of the Art Council, Ts.Ariunaa.

1st place: "Stone underway" – by A.Oyunzaya. The first place prize was 1,000,000 MNT from Entera store of Bodi Electronics and a cup from Altan khalis.
