INTERNAL MILITARY MARK 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Thursday, personnel of the Internal troops laid a wreath to the monument of D.Sukhbaatar and the statue of Chingis Khaan on occasion of the 90th anniversary of foundation of Mongolia's Internal military.
Present at the ceremony were authorities of the General Police Department (GPD), all soldiers and veterans of many generations. The GPD head Major-General D.Sandag-Ochir congratulated all on the anniversary.
A photo exhibition themed "Internal troops-90" is mounted in the Central Palace of Culture, and ceremonial meeting and concert of honor will take place as well.
The Internal military was founded in 1922 as a "Squad". It is considered that these peopple have played a big role in all historical periods, for example, they managed to defuse a social tension in 1930s, contributed to indrustrial development of industries starting in 1950. In 1995, the law on Internal military was adopted reflecting purposes, goals, responsibilities and legal guarantee of the servicemen.
The Internal military was awarded the Red Flag Order of Military Merit in 1973.
