"Volcanoes museum" in north China

Chaihe Township of Zalantun City locates in the interior of Greater Hinggan Mountain. A total of 15 volcanic craters were discovered in recent years in Chaihe. The trace of the volcanic eruptions in remote eras covers most area of the town. Scientists said that the well-preserved ecosystem made the area an ideal location to do research on the paleoclimate and volcanos. As local special landforms and volcanic rocks attracted more and more scientists and tourists, the scenic area of Chaihe was dubbed as "volcanoes museum".
