Mongolia’s Foreign Currency Reserve is at $2.5 Billion USD

Mongolian Central Bank has bought 1409 kg of gold from individuals and companies as of july 26, compared with the previous year this showed an increase of 440,5 kg equaling 1.4 times of the gold reserves of the year before, nullifying the sudden price spike tax had a positive affect on the central bank’s reserves.


During the news conference head of the Economic Department G.Delgermaa has announced foreign exchange reserves as of june 30, Mongolia’s Official Foreign Currency reserve totaled to $2,5 billion
US. Central bank’s official exchange rate between USD and the tugrik has strengthend 0.5 percent since the start of the year.

As quoted on the official statistics figures in first quarter of the year Mongolian foreign asstes were 3.3 billion USD passive assets totaled 9,7 billion US. From this foreign debt equaled 4,1 billion dollars, government debt and private sector debt were equal percentage wise.
