G.Batkhuu: More time needed to discuss TT issue

Deputy Speaker G.Batkhuu says no decision has yet been taken on holding a special session of Parliament to discuss the Tavantolgoi issue. He agreed that it is an important matter and MPs should debate it without any time constraint, because it relates to national security and the future of the nation. However, Batkhuu told our reporter that a special session should not stand in the way of the draft budget being passed before the constitutional deadline.

The deputy speaker also said a decision on the system to be followed in the next election should be taken by all the MPs and not just members of the MPP and DP, as the others also represent the people. Parliament will take up the draft law in the Autumn Session. The election itself will take place next year.
