CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The cabinet members at a regular meeting held on Wednesday 17th of August heard a report on results of the 15th meeting of the Mongolia-Russia intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. This meeting was held on 1st of July, 2011 in Ulan-Ude, Russia. The First Deputy Premier and head of the intergovernmental commission for Mongolian side N.Altankhuyag was obliged to approve a measure plan of the meeting and to put control over the realization.

- The cabinet discussed a draft amendment to the law on cultivation initiated by P.Altangerel and N.Ganbyamba MPs, and did not back it. Then, the cabinet discussed a parliamentary resolution on running a public poll, which is initiated by O.Enkhtuvshin, Ts.Davaasuren and Ch.Khurelbaatar MPs.

- The cabinet considered results of a state visit to Ukraine and an official visit to the USA paid by the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj, and ordered G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to submit it to the National Security Council (NSC).

- A member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Secretary of CPC Central Political and Legislative Committee Zhou Yongkang will visit Mongolia on August 23-26. Thus, the government decided to allot money from the reserved fund for the upcoming visit.

- The government appreciated results of an official visit of Pak Ui-chun, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) paid to Mongolia on July 17-20, 2011. A plan of works to be done in frames of the visit will be approved by the Foreign Minister G.Zandanshatar, in accordance with a cabinet decision.
