High temperatures to hit parts of China

High temperatures will hit parts of China in the coming three days, meteorological authorities said on Saturday.

Temperatures could hit 37 degrees Celsius in many regions, including Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan and Chongqing, according to the National Meteorological Center.

Meanwhile, there will be heavy rain in parts of Yunnan, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and northeast China over the next three days. This is expected to relieve droughts in some regions.

Northern and central parts of the country have been facing severe droughts, including Shaanxi, Henan, Anhui, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang.

Typhoon Nakri, the 12th to affect China this year, was about 32.8 degrees north latitude and 124.6 degrees east longitude at 2:12pm and moving northwest. It is expected to bring more rain to the eastern regions, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong.
