London hosts Mongolia Investment Summit

The Mongolia Investment Summit starts in London, UK, today on April 16th.

The Summit is held at the same time as the Government of Mongolia is to revise foreign investment law. A draft law to make an amendment to the current law on foreign investment in firms in strategic assets is expected to be discussed during the two day Investment summit.

Participating speakers at the summit include Mr. Cameron McCrae, President and CEO of Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Ya. Batsuuri, CEO of State owned Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi LLC, Joe Portelli, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for FMG Fund, Bayanjargal Byambasaikhan, Chairman of the Business Council of Mongolia and Altai Khangai, CEO of Mongolian Stock Exchange. Also participating are Colin Hamilton, head of Commodities Research of Macquarie, UK, Svetoslav Varadzhakov, portfolio manager for Collabrium Capital, UK, John Man, author of Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan, N. Zoljargal, the Governor of the Central Bank of Mongolia and Ambassador Michael Ussery (retired), co-founder and Managing Director of the Mongolia Fund USA. Chuluunbat Ochirbat, Vice Minister of Economic Development, Johan Kahm, Founder and Principal for FMG Fund, Malta, Norihiko Kato, CEO of Khan Bank, Mongolia will also be presenting speeches.

On the first day of the summit Chuluunbat Ochirbat, Vice Minister of Economic Development, who developed the draft law will introduce the current Government`s policy, economic environment and the new draft law to investors.

Mongolia related companies and funds looking to attract financing and investment, mid tier and junior mining and exploration companies with Mongolia interest will also attend the summit to introduce mega mining projects and make presentations. The summit will last for two days from April 16th to April 18th.
