Harmful chemical presence confirmed in Nongshim noodles

Korean made noodles, Nongshim, have been recalled from Narantuul, Bayanzurkh, Bars Impex and Khar Khorin markets and their sale in the chain shops “Altan Joloo Group”, “Green City”, “Max Khuns”, “Bosa”, “Mongol Supply Chain” LLC have been banned due to the discovery of the chemical benzopiren which causes the growth of tumors. The Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (AFCCP) delivered the imported Nongshim noodles to the Professional Inspection Agency to be tested. The Agency replied that the laboratory does not have the technical capability to determine if the noodles contain the harmful chemical benzopiren. The Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (AFCCP) reached out to the Food and Drug Administration of South Korea to test the content. And Food and Drug Administration of South Korea delivered the official test result that the following six Nongshim noodle products contained high level of benzopiren:

NONGSHIM NEOGURI (HOT),
NONGSHIM NEOGURI (HOT) MULTI,
NONGSHIM NEOGURI (MILD),
NONGSHIM BIG BOWL NOODLE SHRIMP,
NONGSHIM SAENGSAENG UDON BOWL NOODLE,
NONGSHIM SAENGSAENG UDON

The Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (AFCCP) in Mongolia lifted a ban on the Nongshim noodle brand and recalled it from the markets.
