Mongolia withdraws from Asian Youth Volleyball C'ship

Mongolia announced its withdrawal from the 9th Asian Youth Boys Volleyball Championship, which will be held in Tehran, capital of Iran from October 24 to November 1.

A total of 11 teams are divided into four pools will compete in the competition and top four teams will book their places in the 2013 Youth World Championship which will be held in Mexico.

Pool A consists of Iran and Sri Lanka. Mongolia has withdrawn from the event as well as Kuwait who had already announced will not participate in the competition.

Pool B is made up of China, Thailand and Kazakhstan. Korea, Chinese Taipei and Australia are in pool C while India, Japan and Turkmenistan are in Pool D.

The competition started in 1997 and Iran has won five gold medals out of eight.
