UK AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Mr. Christopher Charles Stuart presented on Thursday his diplomatic credentials to the President Ts.Elbegdorj.

At the meeting held after the ceremony, the dignitaries shared views on developing the Mongolia-UK relations and cooperation.

"Among western countries, the United Kingdom was the first one to establish the diplomatic relations with Mongolia. Since then, a half of a century has passed, and our countries will celebrate this date. We are glad that many events have been planned in frames of the anniversary," the President said.

Ts.Elbegdorj mentioned about his meetings with Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and the British Prime Minister David Cameron at which he exchanged views on the bilateral ties. He added that the two countries have been intensifying the cooperation in economics, education, culture and defense, and expressed satisfaction with a new step in the commercial and economic ties and with increasing of investments.

In turn, Mr. Stuart underlined that Mongolia serves as an example in its region by strengthening of the democracy and cherishing the human rights. He promised to work with great efforts to bring the bilateral relations into a new level and to strengthen Mongolia's democracy.
