S.BATBOLD ATTENDS OPENING CEREMONY OF NEW HIGHWAY

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold has stressed that it is urgent to augment networks of autoraods in the capital city and improve the capacity.

The Premier said it during an opening ceremony held on Wednesday for works of a 13.7 km new highway to be constructed in two routes--from the Yaarmag bridge to the city's control post and from the Sonsgolon inter-junction. Present at this ceremony were G.Monkhbayar, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city; and other officials.

The Premier hoped that this new road which meets the international standards would confirm Mongolia was moving towards internationally-accepted standards, and highlighted that this road enables civilians to drive without jamming and less traffic flow. "The city is expanding. One of the expressions of this is a foundation of a new international airport to be erected in Khoshigt valley, Tov aimag. The new highway will be connected with the new airport," S.Batbold said. Then, he obliged related people to perform the construction works in a high quality and to complete it in scheduled time.

The highway will be 13.7 km in length and will have two flows and six lanes. Along the highway, drainage pipes will be constructed in 13 points, and bridge and sewer structures will be constructed in three points as well. In addition, illumination and sidewalk will be created.

The construction works will be performed by Xinjiang Lutong Road Construction LLC of China and HKB International Holding LLC of Mongolia.
