ROUND-TABLE MEETING HELD FOR ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMICIAN B.SHIRENDEV
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A round-table meeting dedicated to 100th birth anniversary of late B.Shirendev, a Labor Hero of Mongolia and the first president of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia (ASM) was held on Wednesday in the Institute of Oriental Studies (IOS) at the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It was organized by the Institute's section of Mongolia with participation of E.V.Molodyakova, a deputy director of the IOS; V.V.Graivoronsky, a manager of the Mongolian section; and scholars on Mongolian studies M.I.Golman, S.K.Roschin, N.L.Zhukovskaya, A.D.Tsendina, G.Ts.Pyurbeyev, Sh.G.Nadirov and Ye.V.Boikova. The Mongolists delivered reports about scientific works of B.Shirendev and his contribution to the scientific sector. A daughter of B.Shirendev also attended this meeting.
During the meeting, a speech was delivered by N.Chimeg, the second secretary of the Mongolia's Embassy in the Russian Federation. She has reported that a commission led by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science has been set up to the birth anniversary of B.Shirendev.
