ROUND TABLE MEETING FOR WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the World Press Freedom Day to be celebrated on May 3, a round table meeting called "New Voice" ran on Wednesday in a conference hall of the Open Society Forum.

Co-organized by the United Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, the "Globe International" NGO and the Press Institute of Mongolia, this meeting brought together administrative officials of the media organizations, representatives of state organizations and NGOs. They discussrf topics "Media freedom has power to change society", "Difficulties facing media in getting high quality information" and "Problems facing media in new environment".

This meeting has been held under an appeal by the UNESCO for its members to celebrate the World Press Freedom Day under a motto "New voice: media freedom helping to transform societies".
