NUMBER OF FREIGHT AND PASSENGERS ROSE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In the first four months of 2012, 6643.8 thousand ton freight and 1,236.5 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport.


Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight rose by 1,123.9 thousand ton or 20.4 percent and the number of carried passengers rose by 81.7 thousand persons or 7.1 percent. Due to it, revenue from railway transport increased by 27.2 billion togrog or 25.5 percent to 133.6 billion togrog compared to same period of the previous year.

1,179.9 t freight and 200.7 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight increased by 622.6 t or 2.1 times, of carried passengers rose by 62.7 thousand persons or 45.4 percent. Due to it, revenue from air transport increased 10.5 billion togrog or 29.1 percent to 46.6 billion togrog against same period of the previous year.
